Salt is known to balance the fluids of the body as well as keep the muscles of the body working, so many dietitians and doctors recommend reducing its intake to assist weight loss. The correct equilibrium must be reached, however, because sodium is required for the body to function properly.

3. Your body needs to maintain a balance of water and sodium so when we increase our salt intake the body stores more water to balance it out. This weight gain is temporary, however, and once the levels return to normal, the weight is reduced.
By drinking more water, you can flush out excess sodium and drop the water weight you were carrying around. While it won’t affect body fat, cutting salt and drinking more water can lead to water weight reduction and reduced puffiness and bloat.
