Caramel Macchiato Protein Smoothie
Looking for the perfect quick, easy, HEALTHY breakfast? Look no further. This delicious breakfast smoothie was inspired by the famous caramel macchiato drink that we all love so much. Everyone enjoys a sweet iced coffee in the morning, but the traditional versions that you’d find at a Starbucks or something of the sort are loaded with tons of excess sugar and fat that will leave you unnourished and sluggish. So we thought, why not make it healthy? This recipe will show you how to make a delicious morning treat that gives you the boost of a typical coffee but also packs in tons of nutrients, protein, and satiation!
What You’ll Need:
- 8-12 ounces of black coffee (we recommend freezing it into ice cubes to avoid watering it down)
- 1 cup of low-fat milk
- 1 scoop of FINAFLEX Vanilla Caramel Clear Protein
- (Optional) 1 medium frozen banana
- (Optional) 1 spoonful of low-fat/sugar-free whipped cream
- 1 handful of ice
Into a blender, put all the ingredients, adjusting the ice and milk ratios to your personal consistency preference.
Without the banana, the consistency should be similar to a traditional frappuccino. Adding the banana, while totally optional, gives the smoothie some more structure, so it will be thicker and smoother like you’re probably used to your smoothies being.
If you are missing the authentic experience of a Starbucks coffee, you can add a dollop of low-fat or sugar-free whipped cream on the top as a treat (because you deserve it)!
